Gjogv, Faroe IslandsGjgv, on the northern tip of Eysturoy. The basalt here is layered and dark, worn smooth by the Atlantic, and at low tide these flat coastal shelves become a stage for every wave that crosses them. I used a long exposure to draw out that movement, letting the water turn to silk around the rocks while the mountain held perfectly still behind. That pyramid of snow dusted basalt on the right is what makes this composition work. It anchors everything.
