Hazy Sun on Ice, Barents SeaThe Barents Sea under heavy cloud, with brash ice scattered across dark, still water all the way to the horizon. The sun barely registers through the overcast. Just enough to leave a single weak glint on the surface, and nothing more. The ice fragments sit bright against near black water, hundreds of them, each one drifting at its own pace. I made this from the deck of our vessel as we pushed north through the ice. No wind, no swell, almost no sound
