Iceberg IV, GreenlandThe arch is what draws you in first. Meltwater and tide have carved clean through the base of this iceberg, leaving a tunnel you could probably sail a small boat through. Above it, the ice rises in compressed layers of blue and white, dense and heavy with age. This is old glacial ice, calved from the Greenland ice sheet and drifting west through the fjord. I made this photograph in flat, overcast light, which is actually ideal for ice. No harsh
