Sea Eagle HeaddressThis impressive Sea Eagle Headdress was hand carved in 1999 by Tom D. Hunt from the Kwakwakawakw Nation. It is carved from red cedar, painted in acrylic, and finished with cedar bark. It was acquired from a collection and is in excellent condition. Sea Eagle, or Kwigwis, is a supernatural being from Kwakwaka'wakw mythology that acts as Eagle's counterpart in the Undersea Kingdom. Those to whom Kwigwis appeared were said to be blessed by the encounter.
