Arctic Peaks in Cloud, Scoresby Sound, GreenlandScoresby Sound, East Greenland. The world's largest fjord system, and from the air it feels every bit as vast as that sounds. I made this photograph during a flight over the sound, looking across a succession of peaks that stretch back into cloud until you lose count of them. Fresh snow on the ridgelines, dark rock breaking through where the faces are too steep to hold it. The cloud sits low, wrapping around the mountains at maybe a thousand metres,
