I run workshops there, I know the place under heavy rain and flat grey skies and wind that turns the lake into a mess. So when I say this particular October morning was special, I mean it. Maybe a handful of mornings a year, everything lines up. I arrived before sunrise. Cold air, not a breath of wind. The lake had gone to glass, with a thin mist hovering just inches above the surface.
