Actual Occasion Oil Painting – Original Framed Surrealist Art 30x38This painting was intended to deliberately grapple with the concept of an "actual occasion" put forth by the process philosopher Alfred North Whitehead. More of an event than a discreet thing, the subject of the painting became what it is somewhat automatically in the spirit of Whiteheads idea of an actual occasion as a "drop of experience" which emerges through a process called "prehension." Note that this is not an illustration or painting of a drop
