Ice Arch, BrasvellbreenBrasvellbreen is a glacier front on Nordaustlandet, in Svalbard's far northeast. It's one of the longest glacier faces in the northern hemisphere, and getting close to it by boat is a properly humbling experience. This section had a deep arch carved into the base by the sea, with meltwater pouring down the right side in a steady cascade. The ice face is layered and fractured, blues and whites compressed over centuries into something dense and heavy.
